Shrewsbury Folk Festival

This annual festival, which takes over the August Bank Holiday beside the river Severn in Shrewsbury, attracts a wide range of musical stars and unknowns.

In 2006 it was included in The Guardian's list of 50 Fabulous Festivals, but has grown and improved since then. Prior to that it was held in Bridgnorth, but the site beside the river Severn, with the town at hand and great facilities, brought it into another league.
